Wasp Pest Control

What is it?

A wasp nest or infestation is never a welcome addition to your property. Not only do you have to locate the source of the problem, but you will also need to tackle the issue head-on to exterminate these pests effectively.

Wasps can be a disturbing discovery. Renowned for their resilience, they often set up their nests in inconvenient locations such as entryways, gardens, or your front and back porch due to their desire to seek shelter from the elements. Not only is the incessant buzzing of wasps quite annoying, but they can also pack a powerful and harmful sting. This combination of nuisance and pain make wasps a pest that you never want to see in your home.

Fortunately, a combination of effective prevention strategies and wasp pest control products such as wasp killer can ensure that most wasp problems are easily solved. In saying this, there’s nothing worse than thinking you’ve gotten rid of a wasp infestation, only for them to buzz right back into your life, ruining more summer evenings.

Wasp Pest Control Frequently Asked Questions

Does Ant Killer Kill Wasps?

Unfortunately, ant killers do not work on wasps. While the contents of ant killers are similar to that of wasp sprays, these ingredients are in smaller doses than needed to provide adequate protection against wasps, meaning they’re not as effective in exterminating wasps and ruining their nests.

Given the proven success of Hovex Wasp Sprays, it is recommended to use these products as they’re specifically designed to get rid of wasps.

Does Wasp Killer Kill Spiders?

Sadly, wasp spray is not effective in killing spiders. This is because the composition of a spider reacts differently to the chemicals inside wasp spray than your typical wasp would. Spiders have long legs that keep their bodies well above the surface, meaning there’s little chance of absorbing pesticide from surface contact.

As such, we recommend only using pest control products that are proven to incapacitate spiders specifically. HOVEX Ant, Spider Cockroach Barrier Spray 350G is what you’ll need to solve any spider problems at home.

Does Wasp Killer Work on Bees?

Wasp spray is rarely effective on bees; 50% of the attempts using wasp spray to kill bees end up in that person being stung. This is because as it works to incapacitate the bees, they release a pheromone that causes all alive bees to attack. Moreover, once you start to attack the bees with sprays, they get much more aggressive, making it harder to rid yourself of the problem once and for all later down the track.

If you were to use wasp spray, it would take much longer to work compared to bee-specific spray and thus be more dangerous.

How Does Wasp Killer Work?

Wasp sprays use chemicals known as pyrethroids and pyrethrins, both of which cause catastrophic damage to the wasp’s nervous system on contact, paralysing them before killing them. When a wasp is sprayed with wasp spray, it will fall to the ground almost immediately as a result.

How Much Is Pest Control for Wasps?

On average, a professional wasp exterminator service costs around $375 as of 2021. Depending on the location of the nest and how big the problem is, the price of pest control for wasps can easily rise.

This is why we recommend regular use of preventative strategies to stop wasp infestations from becoming a sizeable problems. These measures can include anything from keeping your house free of food scraps, keeping doors and windows shut and sealing garbage bins.

In contrast, Hovex 350g Fast Knockdown Wasp Killer only costs a mere $10.50 per bottle, representing excellent value for money. Visit your local Bunnings to purchase some today!
